Welcome to my garage studio.  My studio has taken many forms since I started making lampwork beads.  I began at another house in our dining room ventilating out our side window.  When we moved, I set up my studio in our glass room.  Out there it was a make shift setup because I knew I would need to move it.  We had a problem with lizards out there leaving their droppings everywhere and I needed a better ventilation set-up, so Summer 2008 I took a small break and moved out into the garage after a lot of hard work.

Below is an overview picture.  Behind me is our laundry area which I won't show.  LOL.

My work table consists of a wood banquet table purchased from a hardware store with a stone for underneath the kiln and a steel plate down for under the torch area.  I also use a Creation Station hooked to the table to help with steadying my hand.

My torch is a Bethlehem Minnow with a torch top marver.  I have a variety of tools, i.e. graphite marvers, brass marver, pokes, razors, knives, and rakes.  Also on my bench are my factory made and hand-pulled stringers.  I try to only pull enough stringer for what I am working on so I don't have them all over the place.  This is the cleanest though my table has been in a long time.

Lovingly called my girls...  My two oxygen concentrators.  I have a third but it is currently out of service.

My chrome shelving unit holding my glass, brass presses, silver, overage of tools, cleaning supplies, and other randomness.  Hanging on the left side is my speed control on my fan.

My glass which I have far too much of but can't get enough of.  The bottom is full of my Vetrofond and Effetre Italian glass - standard stock colors except for some corals.  The top is some new glass storage my husband just built for me for my silver glasses, CIM, and oddlot glass. I haven't stocked it yet but it is next on my list.

I have lots of bead presses.  I just can't resist when I find one at a good deal and it allows me to offer all sorts of designs in standard sizes.  I primarily use Cattwalk bead presses but as you can see, I have some Zoozii's and MikesBrassForGlass.

An overview of the area including my custom made dog stool with a dog bed for my pups to keep me company when I am beading. Meet Opal and Max.  Opal is the black one and Max is the Merle and brown one.

My Martha Stewart spice rack filled with lots and lots of glass frit leftover from when I sold frit blends.

My ventilation system using a 1035 CFM inline Vortex fan with 8" steel ducting.  My hood is a Glasscraft hood which I had to replace everything on except for the hood itself.   The door is a dutch style door that we can still exit out of to turn on the propane and exhaust the fumes.

My main beadmaking kiln.  It is an AIM 84BD kiln with a bead door, infinite switch, and I have a Perfect Fire Digital Control for it.

My new used Grobet USA kiln (Paragon).  It is a burn out kiln and is front loading.  I am going to use this for glass fusing.  I just purchased it and haven't had a chance to use it yet as I am still trying to figure out the Orton Sentry 2.0 digital controller.

My hands torching on my original torch from the first year of torching.

That's my set up..  If you should happen to be interested in learning beadmaking or help figuring out what to purchase or how to set up your study, please do not hesitate to contact me.
